Leading by example, Chuck has been actively involved in several civic projects.
As the founding President of the Rural Economic Alliance of Parishes (REAP), he helped build a coalition of rural North Louisiana parishes to address common needs and issues such as care for the elderly, rural medicine, aquifer depletion, and rural education.
As President of the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, he orchestrated a parish wide campaign that helped ensure state funding for a $6.2 million D'Arbonne State Park expansion project.
As Co-Chairman of the Union Parish Civic Center committee, was successful in getting the project funded through a combination of state funds, parish funds, and community donations.Union Parish will now have its first air-conditioned public meeting place able to accommodate more than 300 people.Additionally, the building will serve as Farmerville Junior High School's only gymnasium.
As President of the Union Parish Chamber of Commerce, he coordinated an antique street light initiative.Even when grant funding was unavailable, Chuck developed a plan that resulted in over 30 street lights being placed in Farmerville.
As President of the Farmerville Lions Club, he initiated the club's involvement in a program to check for eye disease in pre-school children.
