Indicating his potential with an impressive win on heavy ground early in the 2003 season, Floydeboy has been astutely handled throughout his career by Cambridge based trainer, Bernard Dyke.

Out of the winner's circle since September last year, Floydeboy picked the ultimate time to return, bagging his first Group One success in the process.

Cambridge trainer Bernard Dyke said Floydeboy is booked to fly to Melbourne on June 23 with his first race there being a $A80,000 1700m race at Flemington on July 2.

"He's a good honest horse and is more relaxed in the way he races now," Dyke said.

Ellerslie Racecourse has been a happy hunting ground for Cambridge trainer Bernard Dyke and he achieved further Group One glory yesterday.When the rain hit Ellerslie, Dyke knew he had the equine athlete to handle the testing track conditions in the $200,000 First Sovereign Trust Champions Mile.
