Crowley's Ridge, which reaches heights between 250 and 500 feet along a 150-mile stretch of alluvial plain between southeastern Missouri and Helena, even caught the eye of Andy Dye, a member of the world's most famous golf course design family: Perry O. Dye Designs Inc. of Denver.The Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., and Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., are among the hundreds of admired golf courses around the world designed by the Dye family.
"We originally had a flatter area in mind for the golf course, but when Andy Dye came to see the site, his eyes lit up when he saw the land we're currently building on," said Arkansas State Parks Director Greg Butts.
