Dye goes pro
SU assistant equipment manager Anderson Dye is leaving the program to accept an internship for the season with the San Francisco 49ers.
"I'm trying to learn as much as possible about the business," Dye said, "and, if possible, get on with someone. If not, I want to bring back as much experience and knowledge (to SU) as I can.I'm going to take full advantage of it."
In 2002, Dye worked with the Indianapolis Colts in their preseason camp.
"I've learned a lot from (SU equipment manager Derek) Price," Dye said."He's the reason why I've been so successful. He's always pushing me and pushing me to learn.I just want to make my family proud and my school proud."
Dye, from Ferriday, earned his bachelor's degree in mass communications/broadcast journalism and completed his master's degree in public relations in May.After being a student assistant at SU for years, he took the full-time job at SU last month.
