Pat Dusenbury Senior Associate
Pat Dusenbury is a Senior Associate with FutureWorks and, among several other assignments, has helped staff WorkNet since its inception in 1998.She has 25 years of experience in program assessment, strategic planning, and policy analysis.This work has been primarily but not exclusively related to economic development with an emphasis on public-private collaboration and citizen participation.She has worked on economic development planning projects at the local, state, and regional levels in the US and as a consultant in transition economies.
Ms. Dusenbury's domestic consulting experience includes strategic planning for economic development for clients ranging from state economic development agencies to local civic and business organizations.She has also assessed support for business development among disadvantaged groups for the US Department of Commerce.Internationally, Ms. Dusenbury has worked as an economic development specialist in USAID-sponsored projects in Poland, Bulgaria, and Croatia and developed the citizen participation component for the World Bank City Development Strategies demonstration project in Hunan and Guizhou provinces in China.
Ms. Dusenbury's technical skills encompass project management and research design, data generation and sampling, and economic, demographic, and market analysis.Her planning projects usually involve consensus building and public participation, working with business and community leaders, elected officials and neighborhood representatives.She is adept at statistical analysis and can present complex economic and demographic information in formats appropriate for non-technical audiences.
Before becoming a consultant, Ms. Dusenbury was Manager of Economic Development for the City of Atlanta, Bureau of Planning and served in several increasingly responsible positions on the staff of the Southern Growth Policies Board.She has a B.A. in Economics from Duke University and a master's in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC.
