    Jim's grandfather, Addison Palmer known affectionately as "Doc" founded the business in 1928.Prior to the insurance company office, the Palmer's operated the old Palmer House in the early 1900's located on Church Street in Carmel.

    Jim's dad, Ed Dusenbury, took over the business in 1947 and Jim came on board during summer vacations when attending Bucknell University.In December, 1969, following his discharge from the Marine Corps, the third generation Dusenbury became a fulltime employee.

    "I've enjoyed my tenure over the last 40 years.Putnam has changed and so has the insurance business but I like people and despite all of the technology changes of the past 20 years, insurance is still a people business.When I can help a client my day has been successful," he said.

    About his clients, Dusenbury called them "some of the finest people found anywhere.They were loyal and dedicated which is something not every businessman can say."

    Dusenbury is also involved in his community having served for two terms on the Carmel Board of Education and currently serving on the Board of Directors of Putnam Hospital Center.
