Indianapolis, Ind. , Quincy University's Nick Dunning (Trenton, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Dunning, a senior righthander for Quincy, became just the sixth pitcher in school history to record a no-hitter as he blanked Kentucky Wesleyan on Apr. 6, 9-0.
He went all nine innings and struck out 12 Panther hitters while surrendering just two walks.
He is the first Quincy pitcher to accomplish the feat since Brandon DeJaynes' no-hitter in 2003 against UW-Parkside.
Dunning also delivered at the plate for the Hawks as he hit .545 with a double, two RBIs and seven runs scored in the series sweep.
On the year, Dunning is 5-3 with a 2.43 earned run average and 59 strikeouts in nine appearances.
He is also hitting .277 with 19 RBIs.
