Matt is a partner in Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP's Omaha office and has been in private practice since 1993.He is a member of the firm's Employment & Labor Law and Employee Benefits Division.
Matt has extensive experience in representing employers in all aspects of employment law.He has litigated numerous employment-related matters before the federal and state courts in both Iowa and Nebraska and has a strong record in obtaining summary judgment awards for employers.He has handled many matters before the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission and other agencies charged with enforcing antidiscrimination laws and ordinances.Matt regularly counsels employers on identifying and minimizing the legal risks in employment decisions, such as reductions in force, individual terminations, internal complaints and internal employment policies.He also has significant experience in litigating claims arising under ERISA, and drafting and litigating noncompetition/nonsolicitation agreements.
Matt is an active member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section, where he is a member of the Employee Rights and Responsibilities Subcommittee and the Equal Employment Opportunity Subcommittee.He is also a member of the Labor Relations and Employment Law Section of the Nebraska State Bar Association.
