Charles Dunne
Charles Dunne brings to CAST extensive experience in technological design.He has served as a technician and consulting engineer for the Museum of Science, Avco Everett Research Lab, Motorola Communications and Electronics, and several public safety agencies.
After college, Dunne had planned to teach high school English, but while pursuing an Ed.M. from Harvard, he met CAST Co-Executive Director David Rose and became intrigued by CAST's work.Dunne seized the opportunity to combine his humanities and technological interests by becoming an Educational Technologist at CAST.A lot of people do not realize how technology can help people learn, but I understood the possibilities of combining technology and education. Dunne says.At CAST, Dunne has helped develop ULTimate Readerâ„¢, CAST's advanced literacy development software, and is currently working on its Web-based version.
Dunne is also a co-founder of the New England Museum of Telephony in Maine, a new interactive historical museum that shows the technological ingenuity of the telephone network system.
