Well, Kathie has been involved in that sort of work for over two years now, and she's still smiling.Meet Kathie Dunn, AMI's clerk in charge of outgoing and incoming records.

In 1998 Kathie moved to Kirksville from Lincoln, Nebraska to attend a local bible college.Although it took a while to grow accustomed to "small-town life," she now calls Kirksville home.

Kathie started working part time for AMI in November of 1999 as a chart clerk.She had to get all the charts ready for the next day's scheduled visits.She later became responsible for filing paperwork in charts and placing those charts in the filing cabinet.Now Kathie is a full-time employee, and one of her current jobs is to get signatures on a release form when people are trying to get medical records sent out or brought in.

Kathie has some advice for anyone who might need to move some medical records around in the future: know the names and general locations of all health care practitioners who have served you in the past.That information makes her job and your wait much easier.
