   Don Dunn has been the assistant principal at Canton High School for the last two years.

   Don Dunn grew up in Canton. He is a 1986 graduate of Canton High School and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1990. Dunn began teaching in 1992 with his stop landing him at Mabank.
   
   While at Mabank, he was a math teacher and the head basketball coach.
   
   Dunn is no stranger to the Vandals, as his second coaching stint was with the Vandals. He spent four years here as the head basketball coach.
   
   After stepping down as the basketball coach, he entered the hallways of Van Junior High as the assistant principal.
   
   "I got into administration in order to spend more time with my family," said Dunn.

   "I have mixed emotions about leaving Canton and heading to Van," explained Dunn.

   Dunn will be taking the place of Melody Paschall, who has taken another job in the district, special education coordinator.

   "The job in Van opened up about a month ago," said Dunn.

   Dunn and his family live in Colfax. He has a son who attends the Van schools and will be a fifth grader in the fall.
