Cindy Dunn, the lead trainer for CCAD inc., has been teaching AutoCAD to engineering professionals since 1986. Cindy learned AutoCAD while working as an industrial designer for a zero-clearance fireplace manufacturer. Cindy was instrumental in helping to integrate AutoCAD into the engineering department, taking a lead role in establishing practices and procedures that would take the company from a pencil and paper based system to fully using AutoCAD. Excited by the new technology, Cindy started CCAD inc. in 1986 to help companies make the same transition.

Initially, CCAD's training took place at the customer's location since usually the entire department was involved in the training and hardware could vary quite a bit. "At that time I didn't have a place to train people, so I used the customer's equipment and facility. It was cost effective for the customer and I was able to become familiar with each customer's unique situation. It helped me to personalize my training even more," says Cindy.

Personalized, practical training has always been the key to Cindy's workshops. As an industrial designer and AutoCAD user, Cindy is familiar with the needs of users. "As a designer, I was involved with a lot of different areas, sheet metal, furniture design, manufacturing ... In 1993 CCAD acquired its own building with space to conduct training. Cindy saw the face of AutoCAD training changing as more and more students were being integrated into established CAD departments. Although classes held at CCAD frequently include students from different companies, the emphasis on personalized, practical training hasn't changed. Classes typically consist of 2-6 students and materials designed by Cindy address a variety of engineering disciplines.

Cindy continues to conduct training off-site as well. In recent years, she has traveled to a variety of locations in the US as well as Singapore, France, Switzerland and Germany.
