   Mr. Dunlop is principal of Designed Benefit Incentives in St. Louis, Missouri. He is nationally known in the benefits field and has spent most of his 29-year career in benefits working with the installation, funding, communication and administration of employee benefit and investment plans. Prior to establishing Designed Benefit Incentives, Mr. Dunlop served as vice president of member services/employer relations for worker benefit plans, The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). His work for the church involved the administration of the self-funded trusts and the compliance and participation issues affecting participants from over 6,000 employer sites of LCMS-affiliated entities including seminaries, colleges, schools, mission stations, churches and social service agencies. Mr. Dunlop has also held positions with firms such as Mutual of America, Financial Data Planning, Aetna, Metropolitan, and Rothschild & Sale. He is a part-time adjunct faculty member at Maryville University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Mr. Dunlop has also served on the faculty of the University of Miami (Florida). He is currently an instructor for the online Certified Employee Benefit Specialist® (CEBS®) program and has taught CEBS courses since 1983. Mr. Dunlop has authored numerous articles and manuals in leadership, ethics, human resources and benefit trends. He received his master's degrees (M.S.M., M.S.F.S.) from the American College in Pennsylvania and his bachelor of business administration degree with a health and welfare/pension and actuarial concentration from The College of Insurance (now part of St. John's University) in New York, New York. Mr. Dunlop has the following designations: FLMI (fellow, life management institute), CLU (certified life underwriter), ChFC (chartered financial consultant), CFP (certified financial planner), CEBS, RHU (registered health underwriter) and REBC (registered employee benefit consultant). He has held NASD registered representative services 7, 63 and the principal 24 licenses. Mr. Dunlop served as past president of the St. Louis Chapter of ISCEBS. Since 1995 he has been on the Editorial Advisory Committee of Benefits Quarterly.
