   Born and raised in Ottawa, with roots stretching up the Ottawa and Gatineau rivers, Dan is a sergeant with the Ottawa Police and has been a police officer for 26 years.Dan has two son's, Patrick and Ryan.

   Dan, in his role as a police officer, was instrumental in setting up one of Canada's first Hate Crimes Unit, which went on to be a model for the rest of Canada and abroad.It is in that capacity that he has lectured extensively domestically as well as internationally.Dan will oversee this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade and Irish Week festivities.Dan looks forward to a great year, working in concert with the Society Executive and membership.He feels that this is a pivotal year for the Society in growth and vision mixed with much laughter, song and fun.He is proud of his heritage and welcomes the opportunity to be a part of an exciting Executive Team.
