"The agency creatives liked the look of the white cyc, but were seeking input on the execution," explained Tom Dunlap, executive producer of Stuart Waks & Company, whose Frank Efron cut the spot. "Given the quick turnaround, they were looking for a post production house that could steer them through the process of cutting the cars and making the white cyc look sensational."
Each spot included 36 special effects shots, all of which involved rotoscoping the image of a car shot on a special effects stage and compositing it into a white, limbo environment. Given that each shot might involve several hours of work by an individual artist, the deadline required that multiple artists get involved. R!OT, which has one of the industry's largest complements of compositors, applied six artists to the task. "I estimated 180 hours of effects work in three days," said Dunlap. "I needed three or four Henry and Inferno artists working simultaneously. I also needed supervision on the set. For this project, R!OT seemed perfect. It was the biggest, the best and easiest place to go."
R!OT's team of artists devoted considerable time to "cleaning" each image, removing unwanted elements, enhancing the lighting, and preserving the subtleties of shadow and highlight.

Dunlap was especially appreciative of finding all of the resources he needed to complete the job in one place. "Talent was a big factor," he concluded. -
