After completing a first degree at Heriot-Watt University as a mature student Judith went on to work as a research associate in the Department of Economics. She taught as a part-time lecturer and also completed a part-time MBA. She joined Strathclyde Regional Council on completing her second degree to work in Economic Development on projects in tourism and training. She joined the University in 1992 after completing a visiting post at Queens University, Kingston, Canada. She teaches mainly applied microeconomics to a range of students with a particular interest in teaching to business students.
