Special Guest at this year's convention was the Superintendent of Grand Bassa County, Hon. Julia Duncan-Cassell who is on a private visit to the United States.
Hon. Duncan-Cassell received a thunderous applaud and standing ovation when she was introduced by Mr. Jerome Gayman, a former classmate from Bassa High School in Lower Buchanan. After she was introduced, the Superintendent did not hesitate to thank her Kinsmen and women for the wonderful efforts they are making in helping their people in the Bassa Counties. In her brief remarks to the audience, the Superintendent eloquently gave a brief state of progress been made in the county and a call to UNIBOA to be a participant in the reconstruction of the county. She also answered many questions concerning issues in the county, such as the land issue between LAC and the people in its vicinity and the erosion that is eating away land and properties in the historic port city of Buchanan.
