Larry Dugan
Larry Dugan is the second of seven children born and raised in a rural setting close to Wilmington, Delaware. He grew up "living every Norman Rockwell painting that ever graced the Saturday Evening Post".Educated first at Catholic University and later at the University of Michigan, Larry gravitated to West Michigan, a community steeped in Conservatism and 1930's thinking.Larry rapidly established himself as a maverick in his thinking and a catalytic agent for change.
After working seven years for a small school system, Larry established himself as a psychologist in private practice specializing in psychoanalytic therapy. His work as a clinician pulled Larry into business consulting where he specialized in Personnel Selection and creating positive, productive work environments designed to promote mental health.
Over the years, Larry became a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Sports Psychologists, and the American Academy of Medical Hypnoanalysts. He also earned honors as a Diplomate in Forensic Psychology and the National Association of Psychological Examiners. In addition, he joined the National Speakers Association and the International Speakers Network.
Like George Bailey, Larry has nurtured dreams of moving on and traveling.Duty always interfered.
For thirty-nine years he has scribbled notes and observations relating to an incredibly vast array of subjects centering on The Human Condition.Having passed his 60th year, he committed to sharing his thoughts with the public.
Larry continues to live in Grand Rapids, Michigan and continues to work 14 hour days.He is an amateur watercolorist, has written three novels and spends time with his children and grandchildren and - last but not least - his long-suffering beloved bride Margaret. He also writes poetry ranging from sentimental love poems to bizarre verse and recently won a bronze medal from the National Poets Society.
