ìIn the last two years, we personally have seen a 35-percent increase in health-insurance costs,î laments Ken Dugan, owner of Prestige Tool Manufacturing in Milford. ìAnd we get no explanation for these increases.î
Dugan is not alone.
...
Still, Dugan says he does the best he can to provide employees with a benefit package.
ìWeíre offering an HMO value plan this year,î says Ken Dugan. ìThere were some corners cut here and there, but I offer that as my base plan.I still canít pay for employeesí families, though.I feel for them,î he asserts, ìbut there really is nothing I can do about it.î
...
While all this news may cheer company owners like Dugan somewhat, there is a move to get involved now on the legislative level.
ìWeíre wondering if we, as an association, can do something about this,î he states, ìwhether we can get our voice heard.
...
Dugan, and countless others like him, are anxious to offer employees a brighter picture for the future of their benefits.
