Brian Dow, a spokesman for the Schools Food Trust, which is exhibiting in the zone, said: "We are going to the show to highlight the important role teachers have to play in improving the health of their pupils.

Since September 2006 pupils have been served up more nutritious food in their school meals and although Brian admitted there had been a 'few problems' with children not being too keen on the new meals he said the long-term advantages were clear.

He added: "By going to The Education Show 2007 we hope to ensure teachers know about us and our work - and what they can do to ensure this revolution is a success."
