Two of the six, Brian Dooley and Jerry McAulliffe, are incumbents; one incumbent, Jules Coleman, is choosing not to run this year.
...
Brian Dooley, 39, is the general manager at Professional Packaging Services, Inc., a family-owned business.Until recently, he also ran his own business Classic Service, a local Internet provider that he recently sold to Berkshire Net.He has served one term on the board of trustees and is running for reelection. He believes he is an asset to the board because of his technical expertise.
"The village offices were struck by lightening a while back and all the equipment was fried in the whole building," Dooley said."I made sure that everything was covered in the insurance claim," he said."Lightening has tremendous power.Stuff comes back to haunt you later."
But Dooley is not running strictly on his technical skills.
"The real reason I agreed to run was because I believe that if you are going to speak about the village, you'd better be willing to put the time in and give your best effort. We should work to make things better rather than complain," he said.
When it came to important issues for the village, Dooley said he wanted to improve the village's infrastructure.
"A lot of people feel the most important thing is job creation, traffic flow or appearance," he said."Personally, I think the most important issue is building a strong foundation: The municipal water supply, wastewater treatment. And once the groundwork is laid, go on to beautification."
Dooley said he is willing to put his time and energy to work for Hoosick Falls.
"I have the village's best interests at heart," Dooley said."I have three children I'm raising in the community.I'll contribute as long as people want me."
Dooley encouraged people to get out and vote.
