In 1999, as a software consultant Dr Donnelly set up his own company (IQ Solutions).Since then he has delivered software solutions, medical regulatory and accreditation compliance advice and bio-signal processing and vital sign diagnostic algorithm expertise to medical device companies throughout the UK and Ireland.Dr Donnelly became a founding director in Bluescope Medical Technologies Ltd, a medical device manufacturer, developing innovative intelligent cardio-pulmonary monitoring devices primarily for the critical and high dependence units in hospitals. Dr Donnelly is involved with groups and networks promoting software quality, software engineering and computational medicine.Dr Donnelly has introduced a software framework for developing software in medical devices that has received worldwide acclaim and been presented at leading international conferences.He is Chair of the Medical Technology Excellence Network (Medi-TEN) in N. Ireland and Chief Executive of BioBusinessNI.
