Last year, authorities recovered $200,000 alone from deadbeat parents in Bucks and about $1 million from those in Montgomery County, Bucks Sheriff Edward J. Donnelly said.
Every week, sheriff deputies in their respective counties nab deadbeat parents. But this sweep is for authorities from one county to get absent-paying parents in another county, Donnelly explained.
"We have people that are delinquent with child support payments, but they live in other counties," the sheriff said."Our warrant unit doesn't get the opportunity to get into the other counties."
During last year's sweep, about 25 parents were arrested in Bucks County and taken to the four other counties, Donnelly said.
