J A Dohn & AssociatesA San Francisco Bay Area native, Judi has been in management positions in the technology industry for over two decades.After moving to Nevada in 1992, Judi became actively involved in efforts to expand and diversify the State's economy.She has written and been awarded two grants from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support technology growth in the state.The first resulted in developing a statewide program, the Manufacturing Assistance partnership (MAP), now established throughout the University and Community College system.The second, a four-year grant awarded through the Henderson Chamber Foundation in 1999, culminated in the new Entertainment Engineering & Design program at UNLV for both undergraduate and graduate students. Judi spearheaded the development, managed the construction process, and continues to raise operating funds as for the Henderson Business Resource Center/Incubator.She currently is the president of the Nevada Technology Council, is a member of the UNLV Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering Advisory Board and a board member of TBAN (Technology Business Alliance of Nevada)

"We need to develop what we have rather than what we'd like to become; it's a much smarter strategy," she said.

Nevada's smallness, especially against tech giant California, can be an advantage, Dohn said.

"Nevada is a big-stakes small town.There's an opportunity to make a difference," she said.
