Just ask Andrew Dohm, an SMC instructor of mathematics. He taught a linear algebra class to eight students, and was able to incorporate the smart classroom once every couple weeks.
He recalls teaching one concept called an assignment problem.By using a Web site with software found in the class' textbook, Dohm was able to "better explain" the problem and its solution using computer-generated graphics and examples, "even if it was rather crude. ...
"I think it's an exceptional instructional tool, and it adds to our whole method of presenting material," he said."...I just think the more things you can teach, using more of the senses -- sight, feel or touch, smell, et cetera -- the better."
Enhancing learning is exactly what SMC officials are hoping to do with more smart classrooms.
