DETROIT -- Promotional Concepts Network (PCN) has announced a major expansion initiative with the addition of several new affiliated niche businesses to its network.PCN offers turnkey marketing services, brand development, new product launches, trade show and special event coordination and public relations services to the automotive industry, and works in tandem with these affiliated companies to serve its roster of clients.
PCN was founded more than 11 years ago, and currently is a supplier to a major U.S.original equipment manufacturer.According to Debra S. Dixon, president and CEO of Promotional Concepts Network, the expansion will enable PCN to grow into other specialty and niche areas within the industry.
"The automotive aftermarket continues to experience explosive growth, and the OEMs are now beginning to realize how profitable customization and accessory items can be," she said."After years of being on the 'inside' of an OEM, I've gained the know-how to help aftermarket manufacturers get their products into the OEM supply base, and also how to get them on specialty vehicles," she said.
In its role as a Tier 1 OEM supplier, Dixon said Promotional Concepts' primary expertise is with on-site program management at major trade and consumer automotive shows. In addition, the company has coordinated activities at hunting and outdoors, off-road, motorcycle and drag racing events.PCN also supported the launch of a new model in the compact performance market.
Dixon also is an expert at helping aftermarket manufacturers develop a business relationship with the original equipment manufacturers, having overseen the Aftermarket Support Program at a major OEM.
"One of our biggest strengths is our knowledge of the OEM corporate culture. We understand the processes, the people and how to get things done within a large corporation," she said."Because we also know the aftermarket side of the business intimately, we believe there is a large market for our expertise."
Prior to founding Promotional Concepts Network, Dixon was a project manager for Electro-Wire, a supplier of electrical components to the OEM market. She also owned and operated her own office services firm.
Promotional Concepts Network, headquartered in Detroit, Mich., holds a minority supplier designation on regional and national levels. The company is a member of the Michigan Minority Business Development Council and the National Minority Supplier Development Council, as well as the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and its Sport Compact Council.
Dixon attended Oakland (Mich.) University and the Detroit College of Business, where she studied international business and the Japanese language. She also holds a black belt in martial arts, and is trained as an Emergency Medical Technician. The Women in International Trade Organization voted Dixon its 1996 Woman of the Year. She also received the 2002 Excellence in International Tuning Award from Super Street Magazine for her contribution to the sport compact market.
