MISSOURI ASSOCIATION OF HEALTH PLANS announced the selection of Cheryl Dillard as the new chairman of the board.Dillard, who currently serves as vice president of public affairs and communications for HealthNet Inc., has more than 20 years of experience in the health care field.Dillard served as director of public affairs for Kaiser Permanente in Kansas City and is a former project development specialist for the U.S. Public Health Service.She is a graduate of MU and holds a master's in social work from St. Louis University.

BRENT JONES HAS BEEN AWARDED the Graduate Realtor Institute designation by the Missouri Association of Realtors.

A HealthNet spokeswoman, Cheryl Dillard, says officials with the health plan would consider the Kansas City Orthopedic Institute group just like any other provider. Standard procedure would be to determine the following: whether there is a compelling need in the marketplace; how the center would fit with HealthNet's medical management programs; and the market demand for additional services. Mr. Dillard says HealthNet does not currently contract with a freestanding outpatient surgery center.

"Many of the physicians are already in our network and we are in discussion with them about the new facility," says Cheryl Dillard, vice president of public affairs with HealthNet.

Dillard, who currently surves as Vcie President of Public Affairs and Communications for HealthNet, Inc., has more than twenty years of experience in the health care field.Prior to joining HealthNet, Inc., Dillard served as Director of Public Affairs for Kaiser Permanente in Kansas City and is a former project development specialist for the U.S. Public Health Service.She is a graduate of the University of Missouri - Columbia, and holds a Master's in Social Work from St. Louis University.Dillard currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Bioethics Center, the Kansas City Free Health Clinic and the MS Society.In Kansas City, she is the Mayor's appointee to the City Market Oversight Committee and serves as co-chair of the Economic Development Task Force of the Central Business Corridor Transit Plan committee.
