Earning his BFA in Art Video from Syracuse University in 2000, Diehl has since produced works in live cinema, installation, sound art and single-channel format with exhibitions across the country. A partial listing of venues might include: The Portland Experimental and Documentary Film Festival, and Wooden Octopus Skull Pfest (Seattle), Other Cinema's New Experimental Works (San Francisco), Spark Contemporary Art Space (Syracuse) and Monkeytown (Brooklyn). Currently, Diehl is a Graduate Teaching Fellow at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where he is pursuing his MFA in Digital Arts.

His work, which ranges from experimental animation to live audio-visual performance, and from short-form video essays to installation and sound collage, has screened in the Portland Documentary and eXperimental Film Festival for multiple years, as well as in festivals and galleries nationally and internationally. He recently premiered BYOTV, with Video Gentlemen, at the New American Art Union.
