    Robert is a member of the Edison Municipal Council.

    His term will expire in December, 2009.

    Robert is presently serving as Council President.Robert Diehl received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and his New Jersey State Teaching Certification from Kean College in 1976.He holds a Masters Degree in Supervision and Administration.

    He worked for 18 years as an Educational Sales Representative, always finding time to stay involved in our community.Bob also taught in the classroom for several years and last year took an administrative position as a high school disciplinarian.

    Bob is serving as Council President for the second time and also served as Vice-President twice in the last four years.He has been a member of the Edison Environmental Commission and Parks Committee and has dedicated himself to the preservation of Open Space, proud of his appointment on Edison Township's Open Space Committee.

    Along with several township responsibilities and duties, Bob is Chairman of the Environmental Education Center Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Mayor's Educational Task Force.The goal of this group is to create a township environmental center that will not only provide learning opportunities for Edison school children but also generate additional revenue for the town.

    Robert Diehl also is a former President of the St. Joseph High School Fathers' Club.He and his wife of 26 years, Anne, have always enjoyed an active involvement in the education of their two children.

    Always active, Bob enjoys running, swimming and gardening.He received his Third Degree Karate Black Belt in 1979.Mr. Diehl is CPR and AED Certified by the American Heart Association.

    There being no other nominations, on a motion made by Councilmember Barnes, seconded by Councilmember Pizzi and duly carried, the nominations were closed.
