Surviving are his wife; two sons, Stephen (and Carol) Dickens, Moline, and Stanley (and Lore) Dickens, Davenport, Iowa; a daughter, Donna (and Frank) Robbins, Oquawka; five grandsons and two great-granddaughters.He was preceded in death by his parents, oa son, Danny Dickens, a sister and four brothers.

He was reared and educated in New Boston and and attended New Boston High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a lifetime member of Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local Union 18 for 57 years.

He was a member of sAmerican Legion Post 2910 and the Oquawka Masonic Lodge, and a charter member of the Oquawka Eagles.
