   Assane Diallo, Director of the JFK Center Founder of the John F. Kennedy Center, Assane Diallo was involved early in the Youth Movement and different community services programs. In 1993, he organized his first presentation on JFK at the American Cultural Center in Dakar. At this first presentation, Bruce Cohen, the Peace Corps director in Senegal approached Assane and gave him encouragement in his endeavor.

   Since then, Assane has organized many presentations, exhibitions, lectures, and conferences about JFK in many high schools and cultural centers in Dakar. Each of these events was centered around Kennedy's life, using themes such as the famous Kennedy quotation "ask not your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" to promote the idea of solidarity in the community.
   
   Assane has worked and volunteered in Senegal and the USA with different non-governmental organizations. He has worked with youth programs for Coeur Vaillants du Senegal in Senegal and the YMCA in Colebrook, USA; HIV/AIDS programs for the Youth Center/ASBEF, Senegal, Scenario du Sahel, Senegal, and Lifelong AIDS, Seattle, USA; the refugee program for Refugees Assistance Program of Catholic Community Services, Seattle USA; the study abroad program at ACI Baobab Center, Senegal.
   
   Assane believes we must not ignore our responsibilities to our family, community, and country, as well as the world, and we must make it a better place for everybody. His main focus is on volunteerism, peace keeping, and solidarity in local and global communities.
