As observed by Project Architect Mario DiMarco: "The physicians' unparalleled commitment to provide their patients with a quality environment equal to the standards of their existing facility made this a challenging and ultimately successful project. These standards include exterior views and natural lighting, a comfortable, sensible air temperature for both staff and patient, and an aesthetic that promotes the respect for the dignity of the patient. These clear objectives were limited by several design constraints: an incompatible existing structural layout, a narrow and ‘deep' suite envelope, and a suite perimeter that limited opportunities to bring in natural light. We worked closely with the physicians to address all of these concerns.I feel our solution is truly an equitable balance of all the controlling forces that shaped the final outcome."
