Dhiman promises liberal funds for Dalit students

The Education Minister, Mr Ishwar Dass Dhiman, has said liberal funds would be provided to the Education Department for helping students of Dalit community.He said the state government had made a provision of Rs 19.44 crore for providing free books to 7.5 lakh students of the state studying from sixth to tenth class.

Mr Dhiman was addressing a public meeting at Mehal village of the district today.He said computer education had been introduced in 236 selected senior secondary schools of the state from the current academic session.The main aim of the government was to prepare students to compete with those studying in metropolitan cities, he added.Mr Dhiman asked teachers to work with utmost dedication and help students to become good citizens.He said only teachers could make or mar society.

The state executive committee also includes Prem Kumar Dhumal, former chief minister and leader of opposition in state assembly, Ishwar Dass Dhiman, former Minister, former MLA, Mrs. Urmila Thakur and Pyere Lal Sharma, the former district BJP chief.

KISAN PASSBOOKS : The HP Education Minister , Mr Ishwar Dass Dhiman , has said the kisan passbooks would prove to the successful for the farmers as all valuable data about them has been incorporated in these.He was presiding over a function at Mahre Kaswa on Tuesday.He claimed that the state government was adopting the policy of equitable development of the state.He gave kisan passbooks to 500 farmers of the 43 patwar circles of the area.
