The process leading up to the verification took about three years to complete, according to Sue Deyke, emergency room director and trauma nurse coordinator.An additional important part of the Level III

Trauma Center designation is to educate the community on the prevention of traumas.

Deyke Selected as CCH Director of Emergency Department

Columbus, NE (January 2004) - Suszanne (Sue) Deyke has recently been selected as Director of the Emergency Department at the Columbus Community Hospital.As Director, she will provide the tools, knowledge and resources to all staff in the emergency room so they may provide the best care.

Prior to her new position, Deyke was the Nurse Manager for the past 5 ½ years at the clinics of Columbus Creighton Cardiology and Creighton Internal Medicine.She was also a previous employee of Columbus Community Hospital for 15 years working in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Units.

Deyke is a graduate of Clarkson College of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Management from Bellevue University.

Sue Deyke, and husband Bill, have 4 children, Eric, Nichole, Luke and Emily and reside in Columbus.
