John Deuss, owner of First Curaçao International Bank, is to be held in custody for two weeks following his arrest for his alleged part in carousel fraud.

The Guardian article confirms that John Deuss, the owner of FCIB, has been extradited to Holland, where he is due to appear before the courts accused by Dutch prosecutors of money laundering and running a criminal organisation.

Mr Deuss was due to appear earlier on this week before an examining Magistrate as prosecutors seek more time to question him.

Deuss, a multi-millionaire oil tycoon, was arrested by police and detained in custody on October 13 on suspicion of money laundering, handling stolen goods and being in charge of a criminal organisation.He was expected to appear in court last week to be bailed or released.

While a crackdown by investigators forced the bank to go out of business in Europe, it continued to work from Bangalore by assuming the guise of a software company called Transworld ICT Solutions Pvt Ltd, owned by Dutch national John Deuss, a director of First Curacao.
