Most recently, Mr. Deremo was with Avery Dennison as Vice President and General Manager of one of their operating divisions.This division manufactured highway safety products and was created as a result of Avery?s acquisition of Stimsonite Corporation in 1999.Prior to joining Stimsonite in 1995, Mr. Deremo was with FMC Corporation for fifteen years where he held finance, sales, and general management positions in a variety of industries including packaging, plastics, automation, and transportation.He also has extensive international experience having overseen operations in Europe, Latin America and Asia.As an operating manager, he has been involved in a number of acquisitions and divestitures ranging in size from $5-$150 million. Mr. Deremo has an MBA from the University of Michigan and a B.A. with High Honors from Michigan State University.He is currently a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), Midwest Business Brokers & Intermediaries (MBBI) and The Executive Committee (TEC).

But "what happens is, as owners get older, they want to shelter and protect everything they've built," says Clifford Deremo, president of Stevenson & Co., a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm in Evanston. If you're 65, it's hard to go all in for new equipment that you know you need but may never get paid back for, he says. But it may be necessary. "Once you stop taking risks, you open up opportunities for your competitors, and you're not coming out of the recession in the best of shape," he says.

Cliff has experience in a wide variety of industries including Metals, Plastics, Engineered Products, Consumer Products, Capital Equipment, Packaging, Marketing and Industrial Services and Logistics.

Prior to joining Stevenson, Cliff was with Avery Dennison as Vice President and General Manager of one of their operating divisions. This division manufactured highway safety products and was created as a result of Avery's acquisition of Stimsonite Corporation in 1999.
