Violinist, Kathleen Derbyshire holds degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music, Tufts University and Columbia University.
She has studied under BSO member, Valeria Vilker-Kuchment and performed at Boston's Symphony Hall under Keith Lockhart.
Locally, she plays with the Morris Chamber Ensemble and has toured with many musical theater groups.
She regularly freelances and currently teaches in the Madison Public Schools where she is the director of the Madison Junior School Orchestra and the All-City Orchestra.
Additionally, Ms. Derbyshire provides violin instruction at Newark Academy in Livingston and is on the CMI faculty at Kean University.
She was recently selected to participate in the Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School.
She maintains a private studio at her home in Morristown, NJ.
