Dee Martin is an associate in the Government Relations and Strategy section at Bracewell & Giuliani.Ms. Martin focuses on issues relating to energy and the environment, as well as counter-terrorism and security law.
Ms. Martin helps clients react to changed circumstances through monitoring, advocacy, and negotiations with the U.S. Congress and administrative agencies of the federal government.She has testified before agencies on behalf of her clients.Ms. Martin co-authored Foundations, Sources, and Priorities of Homeland Security Law in the Homeland Security Law Handbook.Ms. Martin also authored the Special Committee on Homeland Security: 2004 Annual Report, which was published in the Environment, Energy, and Resources Law: The Year in Review 2004.
Ms. Martin is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served on the managing board of the Journal of Social Policy and the Law and as a Justice on the William Minor Lile Moot Court Board.
Before attending law school, Ms. Martin worked for four years as the National Programs Associate for the Feminist Majority Foundation ("FMF").While at FMF, Ms. Martin frequently educated members of Congress on women's equality issues, including pay equity, reproductive freedom, affirmative action, and gender apartheid in Afghanistan.Ms. Martin was awarded the Ms. Foundation 1997 Women of Vision Award.Ms. Martin was the youngest recipient of the award; fellow recipients have included Hillary Rodham Clinton (1994) and Gloria Steinem (1989).
