   Devi was born in Zimbabwe and grew up in an orphanage in Harare. He has a BA in Child and Youth Care, University of Victoria, 2004, Certificate in Social Service programs from Langara College, 2001, and a counselling certificate from Vancouver Community College. His work experience ranges from Outward Bound experiential learning in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Canada, working for the Vancouver School Board as an Alternative Behaviour Worker and a Youth and Family Worker, doing youth community crime and violence prevention for the Minister of the Attorney General, Community Development in Little Mountain Neighbourhood and youth counselling both in Canada and in Zimbabwe. Presently Devi is doing a combined Masters program in Dispute Resolution and MA for Indigenous Governance.
