Mr. A. Decker

Thomas ( Tad ) A. Decker , the current chair of the Committee of Corporate General Counsels of the American Bar Association's Section of Business Law , brings more than 25 years of corporate management and general counsel experience to Cozen and O'Connor.He will serve on the firm's administrative leaders ( management ) committee and practice as a member in the firm's ever-expanding business law group.Mr. Decker concentrates his practice in general corporate law with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions , corporate governance and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Decker came to Cozen and O'Connor from his most recent position as executive vice president and general counsel of Asbury Automotive Group in Berwyn , Pa. He also previously served as senior vice president and general counsel for Unisource Worldwide , Inc. , and as executive vice president , chief operating office and general counsel for Saint-Gobain Corporation.

Mr. Decker is well known across the legal and business communities for his extensive service on corporate boards and leadership in professional organizations.As the current chair of the Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners , he was appointed by the State Supreme Court to oversee admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.Mr. Decker is a member of the American Bar Association's Standing Committee on Professional Discipline and Committee on Negotiated Acquisitions.Formerly a member of the board of directors of Pierce Leahy Corporation and a former chairman of the Philadelphia Municipal authority , he currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Law and Economics of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a member of the board of business advisors for the University of Virginia Law School.Mr. Decker was also a former member of the board of trustees of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation.Additionally , he is a member of the Advisory Council of the American Arbitration Association's Large , Complex Case Program.
