Flint Decker, chair of the Miners Day committee for the Park City Rotary Club, who has sponsored the event.

"This event is designed to be as informal as Park City is," Decker says.Park City Rotary Club added 'Funky' to the name three years ago for that reason, he added."We wanted to bring back the casualness and local attitude."
The festivities begin with a pancake breakfast at City Park, sponsored by St. Mary's Catholic Church.The Funky 5K Fun Run, more of an in-motion costume parade than a race, begins at 9 a.m.
"It's about parents and children getting creative," Decker says of the run, which benefits the Youth Winter Sports Alliance.
