Local educator, Laura Debenham, will share her strategies for living a balanced life this Wednesday at the St. George Tabernacle.
Having worked with the Upward Bound program at Dixie State College and Especially For Youth at Brigham Young University, Debenham's experience also includes teaching seminary and institute for several years in three different states and has lectured in high schools and in youth drug prevention groups. This fall she will be teaching marriage and parenting classes locally through Community Education.
This Wednesday she will discuss "Living a Balanced Life." She will explain that caring for oneself physically, mentally, socially and spiritually are equally important and that living a life of balance allows people to reach their full potential.
Debenham and her husband and seven children recently moved to Washington City from Illinois. They have lived in several states and have traveled extensively in Europe, Canada, the South Pacific and Central America.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and is a member of the Utah State University Extension Marriage Committee and Dixie Women's Conference Board. She is vice president over membership for the local Loquacious Linguists chapter of Toastmasters International and has directed high school and community theater productions and sings with St. George's new choir, Lieto. As a published writer her works have appeared in The New Era, The Church News and Reader's Digest. -
