Kathie Debenham

According to Kathie Debenham, UVSC's Interim Dean of the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, the department carries a mission that resonates with that of the Sundance Preserve.

"This opportunity to partner with Sundance Resort in bringing theatre back to their inspiring mountain setting represents a wonderful way for us to move our institutional mission into action," said Debenham.

Kathie Debenham is presently Associate Dean for Humanities Arts & Social Sciences at Utah Valley State College.She received her C.L.M.A from the University of Utah Integrated Movement Studies Program in 1997 and has found seemingly endless applications in her teaching, choreography, writing, performance, administrative duties, and life work.She teaches it on an ongoing basis as part of the Dance major at her institution and is fascinated with human movement in all its expressive possibilities.Kathie has presented the Laban/Bartenieff work at numerous regional, national, and international conferences in dance and the humanities.

"We see this as an opportunity to bring various parts of the Utah dance population together to celebrate the way dance enlivens and enriches our lives," said Kathie Debenham, UVSC faculty member and choreographer for "Debenham Dance."

The showcase performance will also recognize the contributions of Kathie and her husband, Pat Debenham, to the development of the arts in the Utah Valley community.
