LAMAR, Mo. -- Vaughn Ashton "Shorty" Deay, 81, of Lamar, Mo., died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at his home of a sudden illness.
He was born June 24, 1920, in Polk County, Neb. to Verne and Dora (Renner) Deay.
On May 6, 1946, he married Shirley Mae Mark at Columbus, Neb., She survives.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1946 in the Pacific.
Mr. Deay was a farmer and ran the Skelly Station at Lamar.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, at Lamar; Past President of Barton County Chapter of American Heart Association, American Legion at Sheldon, Mo.; former 4-H leader, Youth Group Leader at Grace Lutheran Church. -
