August 17 Rotarian Donna Hinkle introduced Rev. Dan Deaton, director of the Little River Baptist Association, who gave a humorous and though-provoking talk on the great truths of life.Deaton is a former Rotarian, Club President, and Paul Harris Fellow.

Dan Deaton, director of missions of the Little River Baptist Association, will speak at all three services Sunday at First Baptist Church of Dunn.The services will be held at 8:30 and 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.The church is located at 309 W. Broad St. in Dunn.For more information, call 892-6161.

Ms. Deaton lives in Lillington and is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Dan Deaton.Rev. Deaton is director of missions for the Little River Baptist Association.A Meredith College graduate, Ms. Deaton has a bachelor's degree in music education and is employed as a music teacher by Harnett County Schools.

She began serving as youth minister at First Baptist in June 2001.Her duties include planning spiritual and recreational activities, involving the youth in community service ministries, and assisting the pastor in worship leadership.Ms. Deaton also works with the children's and college ministries.

When she's not working, Ms. Deaton enjoys singing, playing the piano and guitar, writing, spending time with friends and family (especially her baby nephew Jack), and collecting orange fish.
