Port Neches-Groves ISD Board of trustees President Abby Deaton is seeking approval of a declaration of emergency, asking for a sum of $28,250, to repair the two schools.

Abby Deaton, board president, said the sight of the beloved stadium being torn up was "shocking."

"Sometimes you have to shock your system for a change," she said.

Allco Industries of Beaumont, which had only one competitor for the job, is the manager for additions and renovation at PN-G High School, Abby Deaton, board president, said.

Deaton said all of the essential portions of the stadium are there.The new seven-lane track, field event spaces, new lights and other improvements are in.

"It's been downsized to a workable area," Deaton said.

Dr. Lani Randall, superintendent, presented a plaque to outgoing board president Abby Deaton and thanked her for being a mentor.

Abby Deaton, board president, said the stadium was part of the first phase of the bond due to the timeline.
