Dearie, a native of Scotland, joined Brown-Forman Wines in April of 2001 as managing director of Brown-Forman Wines International and since September of 2002, he has been managing director of Brown-Forman Premium Wines.Before that, he served for several years in the company's international spirits division, including tenure as vice president of the company's Central Europe operations.

Prior to joining Brown-Forman in 1997, Dearie spent six years in various international assignments with Inchcape PLC, a Financial Times 100 company.Dearie managed a diverse collection of wine and spirits distribution and retail companies in the Middle East, Australia, and Asia.While in Singapore, Dearie was the Brown-Forman distributor throughout Asia.He also has previous experience with Whitbread PLC in the United Kingdom, where he spent six years developing Whitbread restaurants, bars, and hotel concepts in Scotland and northern England.
