Harvey, who did not testify during a brief jury trial, was often seen buying cigarettes and coffee at the Sunoco A-Plus market at West Front and Ida streets, according to store clerk Lisa DeAngelo.

DeAngelo, 20, testified she thought he was kidding when he walked in the store and showed her a note demanding all the cash in the register on Aug. 8, 2003.

"Are you serious?"the clerk told him before promptly handing over $138 when he began to yelling at her to "hurry up" and then ran out.

"Lisa was definitely not afraid of Bill," the aunt said.

But DeAngelo said she was left badly shaken by the incident and was unable to sleep without "seeing his face."

"I was just robbed.I was crying.I was shaking," she recalled of seeing a familiar customer linger around and wait for others to leave the store before making his demands.
