Redella Jessie Deane age 65, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Enloe Community Hospital in Chico, CA. Born November 25, 1936, in Bonneyville, WA, Redella has been a resident of the Lake Almanor Peninsula for the past four years moving here from Yuma, Arizona, where she had resided for 12 years, Redella has been a member of the teaching profession for thirty years, and was currently employed by the Plumas Unified School District as a special education teacher at Chester High School. She was a 1972 graduate of Chico State University where she received her teaching credential and went on to receive her masters degree in special education from the University of Arizona at Phoenix. Redella, being hearing impaired herself, took great pride in the accomplishments of her students. She was a devoted educator who contributed greatly to her profession. Redella was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Order of Eastern Star, PTA and the California Teachers Association. Redella is survived by her husband of 24 years, Lester of the Lake Almanor Peninsula, children Daniel Calkins of Yuma, Ariz., Robert Calkins of Colorado, Rosellen Bonney of Chester, and Georgia CalkinsGodin of Michigan along with 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. -
