Stephen Dean recently won the title of Americas Choreographer of the year at the American Dance Awards, held in Boston, Massachusetts July 3 to 9.
The young man not only beat out 59 top notch dancers from throughout the USA, but for him he says he was just happy for the opportunity to teach hip hop to young adults and perform at charity functions for the Cancer Society.
"Just being on stage was the happiest moment for me," admits Mr. Dean, who said he never thought a vacation visit to his in-laws in Boston would land him steps closer to his dream of becoming a professional dancer.
The talented dancer was introduced to Edra Toth, a dance instructor by a friend of his mother-in-law
Mr. Dean's role also won him acclimates in the Granite State News, a Massachusetts newspaper.
However, it's no surprise that this young man is no stranger to winning as earlier in March this year he danced his way to a gold medal in the Regional Dance competition sponsored by the American Dance Association in Concord, New Hampshire.
Not to mention, he toppled more than 600 dance competitors for the prestigious top honour.
The 25 year old, currently a full-time salesman at Bahamas Best says he looks forward to any opportunities in furthering his dream, and he has already taken classes in ballet as well as jazz at the New England Dance School, Boston Massachusetts.
